An Audi R8 V8 with V10 front & rear?

The sideblades give him away (=V8)

I am not sure why you would do this. I know, there are people out there that like the V10 look better.

For me, it will always look like pretending...

I am of the PURE kind.
The only mod on my Audi are original Audi 18'' wheels instead of the 17'' that were on the car, when I bought it. Plus window tinting, mainly for the kids = sun protection

Especially curious about the Hybrid version - in particular for the U.S. market.

As a Diesel is still more efficient under European driving conditions.  And the Audi Q7 4.2 TDI is a blast in thath sense.

...about how much Audi cares about the smallest details, making it almost an artform.

I had the chance to sit in the new Audi A8 already, and i can confirm, that the build quality and interior desing are top of class if not beyond

Why I think that the new Audi A1 has all the pieces to become a great success...

Of course it does not have the long "heritage" of the Mini and the accompanying fanbase.

And a fanbase can grow...

The key success factors as i see them:

It comes at the right time. Small and fuel efficient cars are not only asked for by budget car buyers, but by segment which can afford the Audi premium and expect the luxury, quality & infotainment, which they have / had in their bigger cars.

• All the state of the art fuel saving = efficiency technology on board: recuperation, start / stop system, s-tronic dual clutch gearbox, boardcomputer with efficiency program

• The level of individualization that we see at the Audi A1 microsite Customizer gallery is huge. Over 4000 unique designs as of now and a lot very promising. If Audi really offers that amount of personalization, the A1 will equal, if not surpass Mini's potential uniqueness http://microsites.audi.com/a1onlinespecial/html/popup.html#/customize/gallery/

• The "contrasting" roof arch is another clever move, similar to the R8 sideblade. Gives the customer additional choises and Audi additional revenue opportunities.

• The build quality: I expect the renowned, auto industry leading build & finish quality found on the other Audis

Wide aray of Infotainment options:

• The top of the line is MMI navigation plus, a high-end media center that is a benchmark in the compact vehicle class. It comprises four primary components – the main unit with a 60 gigabyte hard drive, the radio unit, the MMI control terminal and the color display. The retractable 6.5 inch display features elegant images. It displays its graphics as well as the cover art for the audio titles. The navigation map is also displayed in 3D.
  
  MMI navigation plus can store 20 gigabytes of music files. It offers a Bluetooth interface and the Audi music interface (AMI) to connect modern mobile media players very easily and conveniently. It includes a drive for audio and video DVDs and intelligent voice control – the driver can speak the complete navigation address at once. The driver information system is also integrated into the package. 

Last but not least: we are a family of four. Except for kindergarden delivery I commute (to work) alone.


I am seriously thinking about this combination, when the next car swap comes:

• Audi A1 mostly for my & my daily commute - need the 4door though and some more HP ((-: Of course with some nice gimmics & s-line options.
• Audi Q7 as the family car & long distance holiday hauler

Not the worst combination in my eyes ;-)

Don't know how you feel about it, but for me, the interior color can by any colour, as long it is black (-:

Now the new Audi A8 looks suddenly very sporty inside indeed

Note the constrasting stitching - the white stripes in the middle of the seasts. Just perfect match.
