Day 2 – The Audi R8 V10 Alpine adventure – Lake Garda loop

After a good nights sleep and a splendid breakfast at the Hotel Turm terrasse we went into the garage, started the beast and let it out of the "cave".
Traffic on the Autostrada was rather heavy, on some stretches stop and go. There was the second time that I was very very happy about the R-tronic.
We took the counterclockwise approach, started in Nago Torbole and proceeded along the eastern shore.
Today it is easy going, cruising, enjoying the lake and the views (and the sounds, but that is later)

Here is our 1st stop at Lake Garda. Around Navene

Next one: Malcesine

Nice, but quite touristy, but what town is not at Lake Garda

Of course you can choose a different mode of transportation, probably has more hp than the R8 V10 as well

Lake Garda on one side

Hills on the other

On the road again, beautiful Lake Garda to the right

beautiful R8 V10 Alcantara in bottom right corner (-:

The view from our lunch table in Garda

Peschiera del Garda

Simione, beautiful Simione

Yes, cars drive through this gate

Last stop: Riva del Garda

Ciao Lago di Garda

I almost forgot. As I was driving this part, there are no pictures, BUT the west bank = Gardesana Occidentale road
Lot's of tunnels & gallerias. Did not count them (according to the web: 72).
If you have seen James Bond "quantum of Solace" – the first sceens were filmed here: Aston being chased by a bunch of Alfas
Here some links to pics I found on the web:
Galleria
Tunnel

Now imagine:
these tunnels - yourself in the Audi R8 V10 – windows down – slowing down at each tunnel entrance – dropping 2-3 gears (with the automated double downshift of the R-tronic, just love it) – and then flooring it. ((((-:
For the record: If seismic activity occurred at the Lake Garda west bank on that day, we had nothing to do with it.

Day 3: just two words Passo Stelvio / Stifser Joch…
meets
Audi R8 V10
Coming soon…promised
But you deserve a teaser pic
