Heading for Timmelsjoch
There is not much to say, except second highest pass on our jurney (2.509m / 8.231 feet) and to become one of my top 3 of the whole trip.
Just to get you into the mood
They are getting closer
Not the real deal, but enough to get a feel for the R8 V10 in that condition. Needless to say it passed with bravado.
But the toll both is not it. There is even more
We were really lucky. The Timmelsjoch road opened just four days prior to our arrival.
Somehow messed up the Timmelsjoch summit pick. You have to believe me that this hut is right next to it
On we go to Jaufenpass / Passo Giovo (2094m / 6870 ft)
It was ok, but I would not have taken a detour just to get there. As it was on our route anyway, we drove it.
Last pic of the day
Near our night spot Hotel Turm in Völs Southtirol
Thought for the day:
- Driving the Audi R8 V10 is better than I expected. Love the sound, the way it pulles, heck – everything.
- Driving high speed on the Autobahn (~300 Km/h or 180 M/h) is more challenging than fun. Traffic was quite dense. Therefore we stopped driving that fast after a while
- Driving in the Alps with the R8 V10 is more than fun. It begs to be driven there. And it is more driver demanding than stepping on the pedal on the Autobahn
- I'm in serious trouble – just got Audi R8 V10 & Alpine passes addicted. Does anyone of you know a cure?
Day2 (Lake Garda round) coming soon…
